All new employees (cleric, parish, school, Archdiocesan employees and Archdiocesan institutions) must complete both manual and an electronic background check at time of employment with no further requirement for a manual fingerprint completed in the future. These electronic background checks are done through Selection.com.
All candidates seeking their first Ohio educator license, certificate or permit must submit both Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) and FBI criminal background checks. The background checks must be no older than one year (365 days) at the time the Department issues the initial credential.
Additionally, everyone who holds a credential issued by the Ohio Department of Education must complete FBI background checks every five years. Please note that credential holders are responsible for obtaining required updated background checks within the five-year timeframe prescribed by law, even if the expiration date of a background check does not coincide with the expiration date of the Department-issued credential.
All persons who plan to volunteer at St. John XXIII must attend the one-time VIRTUS class, stay up to date on the monthly VIRTUS bulletins, and submit an online background check through Selection.com (the link can be accessed through www.virtusonline.org). The cost of the online background check is $25.00. For step by step instructions, please contact the school office.
The Archdiocese requires our safe coordinator to check and approve all volunteers prior to all events requiring volunteers. Parents who sign up to volunteer/chaperone and are not VIRTUS trained OR compliant three days prior to the event will NOT be approved to volunteer at the event.

The St. John XXIII Latchkey Program was established to offer parents and students an opportunity for before and after school care based on the same Christian values that we live by during the school day. The program is open from 6:30-7:30 am and 3:00-6:00 pm only when school is in session.
FACTS SIS is our Student Management System, it is where you will view your child’s grades, check for homework assignments, and school announcements as well. Your Tuition and all financial accounts reside in this program also.
